PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY
An effective Teacher Librarian is able to communicate and work with a wide range of people of different ages and backgrounds. This includes the parents, students, teachers and school leaders that make up the school community, as well as those outside the school community that influence its existence.
A broad and current knowledge of professional practise as well as school curriculum, school priorities, technology use and community needs are essential.
They are able to provide a place where staff, students and parents feel welcomed and comfortable to access information through relevant and current collections of varied resources that are maintained and organised in a relevant and logical way.
A Teacher Librarian is continually active in promoting access to resources and information services by teaching, demonstrating and encouraging the safe, ethical and legal retrieval of information and the creation and sharing of new knowledge and understandings in the pursuit of life- long learning.
